Description

Take the reins of your adventure and ride through Belize’s pristine jungle to a Mayan city lost to time. Immerse yourself in the beauty and mystery of the ancient world as you explore on horseback. This tour offers a unique blend of thrill, history, and natural wonder—perfect for the adventurer in you!

Begin your adventure in central San Ignacio, where you'll meet your guide in the morning. From there, you'll head to the local stables to be introduced to your horse and get ready for the journey ahead. As you ride away from the modern world and into the heart of the Belizean jungle, you'll be surrounded by the untouched beauty of the Maya Mountains.

Your destination is Minanha, an ancient Mayan city once lost to the dense jungle. As you approach, you'll follow past archaeological explorers' footsteps. Upon arrival, dismount and explore the 38 partially uncovered structures, including a ceremonial acropolis. From here, you can take in the same breathtaking views that once inspired Mayan kings. As you wander through this 'lost' city, watch for native wildlife, including the elusive white morpho butterfly.

Midday, enjoy a lunch provided to recharge before your next adventure: exploring Isabella Cave, a gateway to the ancient Mayan underworld known as Xibalba. Equipped with a headlamp, you'll descend into a mesmerizing network of chambers adorned with natural crystalline formations and ancient burial artifacts, some over 1,000 years old.

After resurfacing, you'll saddle up again for the return ride to San Ignacio, reflecting on the incredible journey through history and nature you've just experienced.
